Master project
Conducted at Central Saint Martins, UAL, London, UK
In collaboration with Symrise, a fragrance company
Date 2020-2021
What if a consumable product becomes the solitary bees' weapon against extinction?
How could everyone be an actor of bees' conservation ?
This project intends to prove the compatibility of consumerism with environment and biodiversity's protection.
I aim at reinventing scented candles, a polluting and waste-producing mass consumption object, into a symbolic and pragmatic support for biodiversity in urban areas, fostering a new level of symbiosis between man and nature.
My goal is to improve scented candles at three levels:
01. Identify environment-friendly raw materials
02. Select fragrances and pheromones which have a positive impact on biodiversity
03. Imagine a container which can be repurposed as a precious shelter for bees.
